At the opening....

Sarah Dawnay and Graham Buchanan-Dunlop on opening day

Spring Exhibition from April 10th, 2016

We are delighted to be hosting a joint exhibition by local artists Graham Buchanan-Dunlop and Sarah Dawnay, private view on April 9th, 2016.

Graham is the former founder/owner of The Broughton Gallery, now closed.  An accomplished watercolourist he produces beautifully crafted landscapes painted with clarity and precision.  His interest in the natural environment and how human activity has shaped it over the centuries is evident in his detailed works.

Sarah from nearby Symington has been honing her skills as an artist for more than 25 years.  Having started out in watercolours she is now embracing acrylics and oils to generate an intensity of colour in her beautifully free and vibrant abstract work.  She is greatly influenced by the far reaching views and changing weather, which make the Borders such an exciting place in which to live and paint.

Simone Whiteford will also be exhibiting some of her beautifully organic sculptures.  In her art she focuses mainly on concept, structure, idea and depth with a mind set on exceptional situations. Methods and materials used stretch from traditional to her preferred and more frequent use of modern technologies e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting
